OK.. before you say it I realize the answer is "it depends" on a million other things. But let's just pretend.

You have to choose one of these catchers.

Catcher 1

Blocking - 3 (scale 1 - negative, 2 - average, 3 - plus)
Receiving - 3
Pop time/Arm Strength - 2

Catcher 2

Blocking - 2
Receiving - 2
Pop time/Arm Strength - 3

Who do you prefer?

Which one hits better? Unless C2 significantly out hits C1, I'll take C1 from the info you provided.

Well in this imaginary scenario they both would be in the starting nine even if not catching so the hitting wouldn't matter.

Like everyone else...hard to say...they have both on DD's team.

DD is C-1.

Everyone - even the other catchers admit that she is the best blocker on either her team or the older/sister team in our org. She can stick a pitch and all the pitchers love her. (She catches for 3 from her team and one from the older team occasionally during their lessons).
However...she does not have the arm strength to gun that ball every time. She is improving - as she is FINALLY growing...but she still puts a little too much rainbow on her throw when she is tired. She is usually pretty accurate when throwing.

The primary catcher on DD's team is C-2. She has a CANNON - but it can sometimes be a little out of control. She pops very quickly. She is a little slow when it comes to chasing down a passed ball and she turns her head and closes her eyes on almost every pitch. She is eager to learn though!

Back on the dirt...
DD is way closer to 2 than 1 but is the starter due to the fact that no one is getting away with running on her. She’s actually a 3 on receiving as well and she knows how to lead w confidence soooo.... I totally blew the game. ;)

I'll go with catcher #2 if I have pretty good pitching. I'd rather a team fear a catcher's arm than her blocking ability. If a catcher has to go down on her knees to block a speedy runner has a chance against an average arm.
