We've all seen the hard shot that just about rips the glove off of a player's hand. Look closely at the glove in the foreground of the picture and you'll see why. The tie for the thumb loop is untied. I've gone through the gloves of numerous teams, younger and older. It's almost a guarantee I'll find multiple gloves with the thumb loop untied or completely pulled inside the glove. Sometimes I find them pushed to the side and the player is not using it. So you need to look inside the glove too. Without the thumb loop the glove does not "Feel" like it's part of the player's hand. They can't close the glove properly due to the thumb stall being so large in the glove.

Next practice check your player's gloves and I'll bet you find loose thumb loops. Get them tightened up. I may save your team a couple of errors during the season.
