DD has to get a new catchers of the Mizuno brand. I do not know much about Mizuno. She currently uses a Vinci which she loves and was wondering if anyone can tell me about them. Like do they run larger or about average in the way they are cut? I see they make up to a 34.5” which sounds huge to me DD currently uses a 33”. Looks like the PRO is their higher end model. I also see other models that look nice. Any info would be helpful.

Cheers

DRDRODD,

They're nice gloves, and fit true to size. The mid-level gloves are a softer leather, break-in & form fast and are pretty light. In very hot conditions, they can get a little sloppy over time. The PRO's will obviously be a better quality, but may take a tad longer to break in.

Regardless of the level of play, $80 can get you a playable glove OOTB.

My DD has used a couple of Miz mitts, with the most recent being an MVP-series. It held up for about a year of 12U TB action. Compared to her current Vinci JCV34, the difference in palm padding and thumb protection is significant. The Miz MVP has a very deep pocket which holds the ball very well, and it breaks in quickly.

I don't have experience with the top-of-the-line Miz mitts.

I would recommend getting a Mizuno with a solid web. DD had the MVP before going to Vinci and the H-web pocket became way too deep as it broke in.
