Hey guys DD loves her Wilson ProMotion gear but I know it's been discontinued. Anyone have any ideas if when they are going to make/ come out with any new gear or are they finished and just going to market the LS stuff? It's been a little bit of a crazy summer work wise so I haven't really done a very good job of keeping up like I should have. She is 16U and if anyone has had to switch to another brand from the Wilson what did you go with?

Wilson has their baseball Pro Stock gear that came out early 2017, and now show C1K gear on their site...

From what I can see, all of the things that made the ProMotion gear and Shock FX 2.0 helmet excellent are gone. Reports I read about the Pro Stock gear was universally bad - fit, comfort, etc. I noticed that very few of the Wilson-sponsored college teams that I saw were using the new Pro Stock gear this past season. Many were still using the ProMo gear with either a Shock helmet or a different brand. IMO, Wilson took a big step backwards with their newest gear.

Just recently, my DD outgrew her 14.5 ProMo chest guard (which she loved). She decided to go back to All-Star (which she used before the ProMo). She likes it okay, but commented immediately that it wasn't as comfortable as the ProMo. DD's current armor is All-Star legs and chest with an Easton M10 bucket.

Thank God I bought a full set of ProMo gear when Wilson was blowing it out. Should have enough to last through the end of DD2's high school career and after that, it's up to her college team.

Looks like the crappy LS catcher's gear that DD team has to wear. It truly sucks! The chest protector is awful, the helmet is worse and the leg guards are meh. Actually, I can see in the picture that the back strap on the chest protector is much improved over the 1970's style LS chest protector. It's like they stopped trying. Just pitiful.

Comparing to pics of last year's LS gear, the shell and cage on the helmets are identical. I agree with your assessment...pitiful.

My daughter is in her second year of ProMo gear. She's a second year 14. I guess it would be wishful thinking that it will get her through high school.

Yes, it appears Wilson has abandoned the fastpitch catchers' market. I guess they're happy having the cornered the bats.

The C1K gear looks like their box store entry level equipment. The helmet does look like an exact match to LS. The chest protector also looks like the same design. There are some difference in the leg guard shells, but honestly, for their site to even claim it was based on the beleaguered Pro-Stock gear looks like a fabrication.

I will say that my DD has been pleasantly surprised by the pro-stock helmet. It fits, it's light, she can see, and when she tried on her friends unused LS helmet, it was a big fail. The cage is heavy, the padding was already coming unglued, and it didn't fit her head. She would rather have her Shock FX2 back, but when it broke under warranty, we were forced to the pro-stock as a replacement.

I'm treating DD's Shock FX2 helmet like a rare artifact. Every time she drops it I hide my eyes.

I bought a Large Wilson Shock FX2 helmet when they were blowing them out. Still unused and still too big. Made the jump to Schutt because nearly all of the original wilson pads had fallen out and were reglued over and over again. She was weary of the extra weight of the schutt but now really likes it. Don't know if she'll move back to the Wilson..
