Yep, you're right about the girl/parent who finally gets a "real" glove, it will be a huge help because most parents have no clue how to break one in properly and most girls just don't like a new/stiff glove, most not all! Appreciate your input here Drakemir.

For what it's worth - DD liked the look of the Worth Liberty - and yes it is a VERY nice glove - not trying to knock it - but she did find it a lot heavier than her All Star glove.

I can second this. My daughter loves this glove. Took a very long time to break in, which generally speaks of the overall life of the mitt; which is a huge asset with shared equipment, not to mention a fair price.

So I ended up talking to drakemir and going with a Vinci, but there's so many good ideas here and I'm sure others will benefit from the ideas, so keep 'em coming.

Congrats CoachJD, get ready for a serious break in period, but just know you bought an awesome catchers mitt that should last you a very long time!

Hasn't came up with a catcher's mitt yet - but it will soon. From what I can tell this is more a mechanical break in similiar to the glove whisper, instead of over treating with oils and such.

For someone who is experienced in breaking in gloves, this would not be needed - but for people who are buying their first non-local sporting goods store special - this can save a ton of work getting it at least practice ready.

Looking at purchasing the Vinci JCV 34 for my daughter. She is 13 and been catching for a couple years now and looking for something that will follow her up into high school. How long is the break in period? Any other sales going on besides the 20% off??
