I know I've asked the question before - but the last time I asked my thread was derailed with regard to throwing hand...;)
So I'm asking the generalized version of my question again. :)
DD is small, 72 lbs and about 4'11", with small hands and long skinny fingers. She will be 12 later this month. She needs a new catchers mitt.
Thoughts on Vinci v. Worth v. All Star. She has a Wilson that she has loved, but she needs a better glove as she moves on here...
My concerns are her small hands...are all of these too much glove for this skinny little thing?

Can't go wrong with any of those three, if I were in the market for a mitt today that's the three I would be considering. I own a All Star CMW3000 which I really like but I'm sure I'd be just as happy with the other two as well. As far as your DD's size, there was a member who posted here a couple of weeks ago with a custom 33" Liberty Advanced, that's the first I had heard they made a 33" mitt. At her age I'd honestly get the one of those three you can get the best deal on. All great mitts !

^^^^^You know, I'd like to retract my post above. In your situation I'd go ahead a get a Vinci JCV-22 from Casedawg. My DD uses a 12" Vinci fielders glove. I've bought 3 Vinci's from Casey and just got another family in contact with him for that very mitt. He's just easy to deal with, sells a great product, and will give you the best deal you're going to find anywhere ! From me pricing around the JCV-22 will fall right in the middle of the Worth and the All Star. Just be prepared for a nice break in period !!

So Cal
My 11yo (5'-2", 105 lbs) is currently using a Worth Liberty Advanced (34" off-the-shelf model). It's not a mitt I would recommend for a small girl unless she's strong for her size, IMO.

The All-Star CMW3000 is a great mitt, as is the Vinci JCV-22. I know 9yos who have used both. Both will require a lot of break-in time.

At her age I recommend the All-Star. We just bought a Vinci (thx Casedawg) and it's going to take some time to break in. When it's time to replace the AS your DD will be bigger and stronger and better suited to work the Vinci. If I knew b/f what I know now I would have bought the Vinci about 6 months ago just to work with during the transition. But between the AS & Worth, I like the AS and we've had both.

Good Luck

I have the CMW3000 and it was a bear to break in, I use it 2/3 times a week and it's still stiff. I think it may have been #10 on here who said his DD's 3000 was pretty easy to break in but that wasn't the case with mine ! I've had a 4000 in my hands, nice mitt also but it's definitely thinner then my 3000 and made from different leather so I'm pretty sure it will be easier to break in. Homerunmonkey has the 4000 for $129 with a 15% coupon code going but I think All Star uses MAP pricing so the 15% code may not apply? Actually I know they use MAP pricing. Put it in your cart and see, if not actually call them and see if you can use the coupon code.

So Cal
So are we talking about the All-Star CMW3000, CMW4000 or other?

I would recommend either one. The 3000 has more padding, and can be broken in with a single hinge, which often works better with smaller hands, but is slightly larger overall.
