So I believe Jay hit the nail on the head with the size issue. DD is only 5'4", but she must have long legs because the 16" Wilson Promotions fit her like a glove. She also really liked the Easton Mako FP's that were 15.5", although I found the Wilsons to have more adjustment options.

I'm thinking that the 14.5" All-Stars were just too small for her.

My DD is currently 5'-2, and long in the leg compared with average. She's been wearing the 14.5" legs for at least 3" of body height growth. I'm not surprised that the 14.5" legs are too small on your DD.

Being that All-Star doesn't appear to offer the Vela-series legs in anything larger than 14.5", we will be looking at something else (possibly the men's System 7 legs). I would love for her to stick with All-Star, if she can. I'm surprised that All-Star doesn't offer 16" Vela legs (same as System 7, but without the triple knee).

I'm a little surprised at the smaller All-Star sizing in both the legs and chest protector. 14.5" chest protector is pretty small.

My DD is still in a 13" chest. The 14.5" was definitely too big for her a year ago. We're going to have to revisit that issue soon, too.
