So my DD2 played her first tournament with her team this weekend. 14u A team. She is 14. They played in 3 games in a showcase that was rained out the second day and were scheduled for a tournament, that was also rained out.
Anyway. She is starting pitcher and lead off batter for the first game. We played 3 innings, she struck out 6 and faced 9 batters. Won 17-0. Team we played went on to make it to the semifinals of the tournament on the other side of the bracket from us.
She then pitched for the Semifinal game, which we won 3-0. She pitched all 7 innings, 8 strikeouts, 1 walk and 3 hits.
Pitched again in the finals, 8 innings with the last innings being ITB. Only 5 strikeouts in this one, but they were all towards the end of the game. This game was great because we were visitors. It was bases loaded with 1 out from a few singles in ITB. She struck out the batter for the 2nd out after coming back from a 3-0 count. The next batter had a 3-2 count, fouled off a bunch and then hit a pop fly to CF that was easily caught. We won.
She also played SS one game and had 6 outs in 6 chances.
