DD called the game yesterday...

DD's HC was tossed yesterday (first time ever in all his years of coaching...but that is another story).
The AC was vomiting and sick as a dog and no where to be found.

So...DD (who has spent most of the season in CF) who happened to be catching had to call the rest of the game.
She did awesome! I was so proud of her. She has been catching this pitcher in lessons/practice regularly and knows what is working right now and what isn't and they worked together to have a pretty awesome game.

They didn't win, but I was so proud of their poise and confidence when everything around them was going a little crazy!

KPower, you have much to be proud of. I am proud of the HC I work with who, for the first time I know of, switched back and forth with our catcher to call games. In the end, she allowed the catcher to call most of the games. I like watching the players take what they have been taught and get it done on the field. It sounds like your dd was thrown into a bad situation and rose to the occasion. Good for her!
