She played 3rd last year, and decided to try pitching in the middle of July. She really took to it. Good enough to go from a rec team to a travel team in August. Lots of lessons over the summer, and practicing with me 4 or 5 days a week during the fall and then again starting in February, she has become very strong. She is now the #1 pitcher on her middle of the road TB team.
First MS game was yesterday. Didn't hold quite the same tension as a TB game, but it was fun none the less. In 4 innings she gave up 1 hit, struck out 8, walked 2. Two runs came in while she was the pitcher of record, not sure if an official scorer would have charged her with 2, 1 or no earned runs, because of errors on the field.
A good start to the SB season, especially considering last year when more runs were scored on walks than hits.
