DD's first 3up 3 down...

DD started pitching and taking lessons after rec all stars last year, so she has been working on her pitching for 8-9 months now. She was the starting pitcher in a rec game yesterday against another leagues top 12u team. First inning was 3up 3 down. struck out the first batter, second batter popped up the second pitch which DD fielded and got the throw to first for the out, and 3rd batter struck her out swinging! Her PC had just started working on her change up at last weeks lesson and she used it in this game and the previous game with some good success! I didn't realize at first she was changing her pitches on her own, but realizing what she was doing I let her do her own thing and for a pitcher with less than a year of pitching under her belt she did good. The smile on her face when she got the 3rd batter was worth all the time and bruises spent on the bucket...

Also...

If she's the one making pitch decision on her own, find a way for her to let the catcher know what's coming. For even a moderately-skilled catcher, it can make a big difference in how well they are able to do their job.
