Played our 3rd tournament this weekend as a first year travel team and have improved so much from the last two. Struggled a bit in the first game and held the team for a while but couldn't get our bats going.

Lost the next, shut out the next team 11-0 (our pitcher threw a no-hitter), and lost the last one in a heartbreaker. Sucked because we had been winning 4-0 going into in the 4th but had a couple of errors that got girls on and they were able to tie it up. Then couldn't score in the next. They got a girl on who ended up getting to 3rd with 2 outs. Wild pitch and she scored the winning run :/
The first team we lost to ended up winning the entire thing while the last team we played was runner-up.

DD batted .500 (had the second most RBIs) and I think had the most outs at SS - made an amazing catch at SS where she ended up running all the way behind 2nd and got at least one line drive.

The hitting was great because in the first two tournaments she had only 1 hit. She's really been struggling to hit off 14U pitchers.

Losing on a wild pitch, passed ball, or error for the final play really sucks. But I'm glad y'all are improving. We are in the same boat, a decent number of first year travel girls on our team. They're improving steadily though. We're all 06 girls but one, who's an 07. In our state there seems to be a shortage of 06 girls so even most of the 06 teams here are stacked with a few 05s. We played 4 games, 3 against 05 teams and one was mixed. We were 1-3 when the rain hit. The most runs we gave up in a game was 6, no shut outs. I learned in 10U that as a first year team you have to look at "success" in a different way; it's not just about wins. Now, next year, we better win a lot more. ;)

Isn't that improper Southern-Speak? I thought is was supposed to be "All y'all" when talking to or about 4 or more people and a "y'all" for 3 or less?

But, what do I know? I'm just a dumb Yankee... :p ;) :D

Born and bred Georgian here but my heart belongs in New England. I never was very good at the south-speak. You might be closer to it than I am. haha
