Nationally Ranked!

DD’s HS team has been nationally ranked for the past two weeks in the USA Today poll. I will say it was fun while it lasted, lol! We dropped a non-district game Friday to a good local team. Our two freshman pitchers got some valuable experience in this game which is more important in the long run. We will need them down the stretch. We turned around Saturday and beat a VERY talented and also nationally ranked Male HS team out of Louisville, KY. This was one of the most exciting HS games I have watched. Two teams who are aggressive on the bases is always fun to see!

Tied 2-2 bottom of 7, DD leads off the inning with a line drive single. Next batter K’s. 8 hole bunts safe, runners on 1&2. Nine hole K’s. Lead off gets another bunt single, bases loaded, two outs. With a 2-2 count, our 2 hole smashes a walk off grand slam to win 6-2!

Here is link to weekly national rankings if anyone wants to check them out. They’re fun to look at if you know some of the teams, but I will add that we are not the best team in the state today, IMO. Still working to get better!

At first, I thought you meant some high school had a boy's fastpitch team and I was very confused. There's a school named "Male?" Nonetheless, congrats! GA plays HS in the fall, so no GA teams on that list, I see.

I agree there should be a silent “h” in there somewhere, lol! We’ve got a lot of GA friends/former teammates so there’s a lot of ball to keep up with this time of year.
