Really proud of DD1, 8th grader starting SS and leadoff batter for her HS varsity team. Had some great contact in first two HS games and a tourney she played in over the weekend.

Great job, and as an 8th grader with...5 years ahead of her! A bright, shiney future.

Maybe a couple of small things for her to consider as a promising young hitter as she develops upon her skill set. Turn those 175's into 200's. ;)

Modifying the A-frame into a more traditional bat position, she could potentially...

*Increase bat speed and power delivery to contact from a higher and more rearward starting hand positioning and bat angle.
*Increase torque power from the rear elbow to the torso.
*Simplify and increase efficiency by starting the hands already back in the launch zone.

Work on a double arm extension after contact, extending her arms to a high finish around the shoulders.
Work to lengthen & straighten her torso (from a bend) at contact to promote keeping the rear elbow tucked into the core and enhancing torque potential.
Work on weight transfer in the lower body, where she's making contact leaning into her rear side rather than weight forward leaning into the front side plant.

An example for consideration :)06-:07 and :27-:28) if you can slo-mo it or master the start/pause button...

Great weather, congrats, enjoy, keep up the good work and lots of successes full steam ahead!

Awesome! Great you got it recorded too!

Now, I'd be a bit amiss if I didn't say: "I got a fever! And the only prescription.. is more cowbell!"
