DD's team went undefeated 6-0 in their weekend tournament and won the championship in an exciting Texas tie-breaker 7 inning game! DD pitched and went 3-0 she pitched 11 innings gave up 3 earned runs 3 walks 19 strikeouts. She threw 172 pitches and 120 of them were strikes. At the plate she went 10 of 13, .769 BA with 2 doubles and 2 triples, 10 RBI, 1 so and 1 BB.

Championship game was crazy - got down 2 - 0 early, went ahead 3 -2 in the 5th, went back down 4 - 3 in the top of the 6th then tied it up in the bottom before time expired. Got behind by 1 in top of 7th and won on a walk off slap hit to third base that didn't get the throw over in time with two outs! DD in the circle got emotional when they took the lead in the 6th due to a throwing error she made. Thought she may lose it but she got up there, got the 3rd out to pop up to her and she made the catch. She led off the next inning and immediately got a hit! Courtesy runner for her ended up scoring the tying run. For the game she was 2 for 3 at the plate and in the circle she pitched all 7 innings, giving up 5 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits, 10k and 2 BB. The second walk was due to a situation she had never faced before - trying to intentionally walk the batter. Daughter thought she was supposed to try to throw strikes but on the outside of the plate. Catcher was way outside. Couldn't call time because he had already been out to talk to her that inning so he hoped she would understand. Ended up that the 4th ball was a wild pitch, scored the tying run when the tag wasn't made, then daughter thought she could get the batter who was running to second. She tried to throw it too hard and it ended up in center which allowed that runner to score putting them ahead. Like I said, daughter was feeling it then and she looked at me and I did my best to calm her. It all worked out and it was a great learning experience!!!

Can't wait for this weekend to finish up the year!
