That's what we have preached for a year or so. DD hits lasers through the IF and into the gaps but most seemed like she just about stopped at contact like she was slapping. Monday night she had the chance to work out at a local DI for a small clinic that was thrown together at the last minute to host some kids on an unofficial for a basketball game. It was a good opportunity since it was basically all one on one work since there were only 7 girls there. DD's HS coach has one daughter that is a senior on the team and another that just signed her LOI with them so he was able to get some feedback for us. The HC said she will be watching DD and said the same thing she told her Monday night. Work on finishing her swing.
Fast forward to Saturday morning. DD's first AB at the Bolts 5 Star was a shot to center that landed about 220' from the plate for her first HR. She finished her swing! Bad part is we missed it. DW had stayed at the hotel with DD#2 and planned on me picking them up after the first game. She called about 0730 and said DD#2 was awake and wanted to get to the park so I left to get her. We pulled back up about 8:10 and as soon as we opened the truck doors we heard the yells from our field and then DW got a text that she had hit one out. Seriously maybe 2 minutes and we would have seen it.
Luckily the other team had their Go-Pro going and the dad said he would send me a copy this week once he got it downloaded. She came very close to hitting #2 in her last AB of the weekend but with the gale force winds blowing in it dropped in at about 190' for a double. Too bad she found her grove during the last weekend of the fall.
