DD 3 played her first tournament with her new team. Also, even though she has played 16U in some league games, this was her first time playing in a 16U tournament.

The team was rather haphazard. Lots of girls had to miss some games, so there were a lot of guest players.

The weather was bad. This tournament had 3 pool games scheduled, plus double-elimination bracket play Sunday. They were able to get in two games in muddy conditions before the lightning, and the rest of the tournament was canceled.

DD 3 has a reputation for pitching well in the mud. She didn't disappoint. Her team won the game she pitched, and lost the game guest players pitched. Her hitting wasn't as good as usual, which was disappointing for her being the lead-off hitter.

They have one more fall tournament, which is indoors. That should make for better field conditions.

We call these types of players 'Mudders'. It really helps if her Fadder was a mudder and her Mudder was a mudder.
