Yeah yeah, I know it's Sunday. I'll be on the road to the beach tomorrow so I'll probably not remember to post. Early is better than late, right?

We had a 2-game friendly today. It was DH's first time head coaching actual games (well, in softball anyway) and I thought he did awesome. The girls looked great. He moved them around every inning, trying to get a sense of who's best in which positions. We're a little short on pitching on our team but I think our hitting and defense are going to be really good. The girls are working really well together and we are only just getting started. Our first real tournament is in 2 weeks. I'm really excited for this year! Thanks to dadofadirtlover for organizing :)

I got to watch DD pitch and play for the first time since our world series in July. She did great despite us kind of slacking off with practice some and giving her a break to focus on soccer.

Had a great weekend. The girls won a 10u class A ASA National Qualifier over the weekend. They went 6-0, outscoring their opponents 83-5 in the 6 games that they played. DD went 10 for 15 with 2 walks over the weekend. Batting average was .666, and OBP was .705, and played solid defense. They won the championship game 9-3. This was the first time my DD has played for a team that won a tournament, I was very excited for my daughter. Great group of very talented girls, and friendly families.

DD's rec team played Saturday. DD played 3B and assisted in a PO at 3rd. Played C also and caught a girl stealing 3rd and also got a girl stealing home.
Still working on swinging faster and her only out was towards 3B (off a fast pitcher) so happy about that :)
Last week her MS team was also recognized at the HS Varsity game for coming in first in their division...

DD played the first 2 college games of her career this weekend. Lost game one 5-4 and won game two 7-2. DD went 4-5 (batting 5th in the line-up) with a walk, 3 singles, 1 double and 4 RBI's! So proud - wish I could have been there to see it!!!

DD2, who first started pitching 11 weeks ago, and joined her first TB (14u) at the end of August, pitched two innings in a scrimmage this weekend. After the game the "veteran" pitcher from her TB walked up to her and said to my DD, "You're an incredible pitcher."

I didn't expect that kind of praise from another pitcher on the team.

DD played in her first collegiate game on Saturday. My allergies must of been acting up because there was a tear in the corner of my eye when she got to throw the first pitch in school history.

Maybe you should carry Benadryl with you for the rest of the season. You wouldn't want to be sneezing during other firsts she is going to be achieving.

Enjoy!

DD 3 played in some fall ball games with her HS team. The fall ball team is mostly girls on varsity, with a few girls from JV hoping to make varsity in the spring. DD 3 pitched 3 innings, allowing 1 run. She retired the side the second and third innings. She got on base every at bat, including a double. Scored a few runs in the second game. The varsity coach was watching the games and made some positive comments about DD 3's fielding ( HS coach can't coach during the fall. A parent and an alumnae coach the fall team.) They won one, and lost one, but DD 3 made a very favorable impression on the varsity coach.

Very impressive. I didn't know a school team could play out of season. My DDs wish they could.

I think your husband did terrible yesterday. He should be banned from the sport. My DD's head coach was pretty friggin awesome though. Was a fun day at the park for sure.
