Yes, they like to make fun of me when "old-age" things happen.
We get no respect from these damn kids. Make sure you don't get hurt in any other game, that will show them.
The team we've been with for almost 3 years folded. Went to a tryout last weekend. DD killed it, and got offered a spot. We've got interest from another team that we might go check out this coming Sunday, unless DD decides to commit to the first team (which I'm good with).
It was sad to see her old team fall apart, and I think she is struggling with the fact that it's over.
I get to learn how to be just a parent. It will be the first time I haven't been involved as one of the team coaches. It's probably a good thing for her.

At certain facilities, I've watched in envy from the dugout as parents enjoy ice cold beers while watching their DDs do awesome stuff. It may just be time for me to flip that script. That said, if the new team opens the door for me to get involved on the team side of things, I will probably jump at it.
The hardest decision you'll have to make is which beer to bring for the day.
DH and I transported all of DD's stuff to her new college home 8+ hours away this weekend. We got her all settled in and then stayed an extra day - DH had never been there and wanted to explore. Ended up parking him at a casino while DD and I did some "forgot that" shopping. Left somewhat teary knowing I would see her in a month for family weekend.
She knew no one at this university (except the coaching staff). Texted me last night to say that she made a friend. When I asked her about her, she didn't tell me where she was from or what she was studying or what she looked like. Her one comment was "she's one hell of an inner". LOL - that's my girl.
