My DD's first year in U14. More extra base hits than I could count... first in doubles in her team. A lot of runners picked at 2nd base... she did well. A big difference from last year after Catching Camp and PFP Varsity. Keep in mind this is only her 2nd year of competitive softball, she started late... a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time, but she is almost caught up in my opinion (if not all caught up). We are very proud.

So Cal
Nice! Lots of good stuff there. One thing I REALLY like is that the bucket stays on her head while making plays as a catcher. The quickness of her release on throws is also pretty darn good.

Jay Weaver... Catching Camp. She just finished her 2nd year in a row attending the NH Camp and she wants to come back next year...

Yep. NECC was the foundation for my DD's development, too. Can't do much better to get them started in the right direction.

The best evidence of why catchers need to keep their helmets on is shown in the video at around the 3 minute mark. My DD had a hard play at home and later on she complaint about her jaw hurting a little bit. If she didn't have the helmet on, she would probably ended up with a broken jaw and a concussion. That helmet never comes off until the inning is over.

Yep. Agree completely. When my dd was catching there were always parents yelling for her to throw the mask out of the way. Take the mask off for pop ups etc. Of course other parents always want to give their "constructive criticism" I would always tell them "dd leaves her mask on. She can see fine."
