I'm SUPER proud of two of our 12U players who were recognized by the USA Softball Nor Cal Region for their performances on the field! These two girls have been playing together for about 6 years, and have grown SO much, physically and mentally. We can always count on them to be there when we need them, no matter where we need them.
The tryout for the Nor Cal Region selection was a live "on the field" evaluation during three designated USA tournaments by a panel of judges. A total of 9 players (and alternates) were selected to be part of the 360 players nationally to participate in the Inaugural USA Softball All-American Games in Oklahoma USA Softball All-American Games. We are INCREDIBLY PROUD to announce that:
Cate Selfridge, 8th Grade - 2004
Starting 2nd base, and an alternate at 1st and outfield will be going to Oklahoma City to represent the USA Nor Cal Region!! She's a hard worker with a great attitude, a big bat, and an above average situational awareness of the game.
Amber Millet, 8th Grade - 2004
Starting short stop, alternate at center field and catcher was recognized as an alternate to represent the USA Nor Cal Region!!! Although she's not making the trip she is always one of the most determined and consistent players on our team and is always ready to do what she can. (poor coach decision: I had to put her in as catcher during evals due to another player's injury)
The fact that these two girls have done so well, while being coached (handicapped?) by their dads makes us coaches (and friends) even more excited to see where they can go from here. We wish them the best of luck, and hope they continue to positively represent themselves, their team, their organization, their region, and their sport!! No pressure, LOL!!!
