I can't believe 14yrs of summer ball is over.
DD had her last tournament with her TB team last week. Lots of highs, especially the temps, and some lows. DD got to play several positions over the week. Made a nice diving catch in RF, cheated out of a grand slam by a fence (hit the top and fell back in), chased by a wasp while playing 1st base (entertaining for the 1st base coach and opposing dugout) and had a runner try to take her out at home. Runner hit her with both hands in the chest, on the way down DD somehow "tangled" her legs with the runner and flipped her over. Parents and coaches are still debating wither it was a WWE move or some kind of fancy ninja thingy. She left the game long enough to fix her contact. Runner was ejected from the game. Ump said that until the runner hit DD she would have been safe and DD called for obstruction. Team went 6-5 with 4 games in the 100+ Kansas heat.
DD helping with team tryouts tonight then getting ready to head off to college. At least I have (hopefully) 4 yrs of college ball to look forward to, even though it won't be the same.
