Well my DD is 12 and plays HS Varsity softball. My greatest fears were realized on Friday night in the state semis, My DD did the DP thing for a junoir outfielder, so my DD was hitting. Down one run and going into the bottom of the seventh she was gonna be the 5th batter up. I was just hopeful it would be over before she had to be up. First girl single, second girl walks, and i am thinking yeah ok! Then the third batter strikes out, wild pitch to open the 4th batter as runners now on 2nd and 3rd. Gal in front of my daughter then strikes out. 2 outs runners on 2nd and 3rd and my DD strolls to the plate. Pitcher throws gas right by her one pitch one, and DD fouls off the second one, down to her last strike, my wife almost in tears. Then it happens, just a line smash between short and third which the short stop could not come up with a diving backhand, so a single and RBI!!!! They ended up winning in extras. I dont think she will ever have that much pressure again as a 12 yr old, lol, and only 5 years left. By the way they did lose in the ship 5-2, but a great season anyway

I am always surprised when parents think the worst. The girls generally pull through. She is playing at that level, for a reason. Good luck, to all of you.

Yes here in ND girls can play high school sports if the can athletically(?) at grade 7, few do. They wanted her to throw for track as well, but its the same season, and to hard the first year. But high school track coach is all over her lol

Too hard... but allowed?? I've never heard of being able to participate in 2 sports the same season, even if they could make the practices/games (which I don't see how you would).

Yes it's allowed and only have to have 10 practices combined, to do either. She threw in the last meet of the year with no practice and set a school record, with absolutely no form. And played a double header for softball the same day.
