DD's team was scheduled to play a 3-game friendly this weekend. DD was going to pitch the first game and then we planned to head to Bham to be with the in-laws for Easter. Well, DD started game 1 and stunk up the place. Walked three batters, a couple of errors and a hit and we are down 0-3 with nobody out. Needless to say I am so pissed off I cannot see straight. DD has had a serious case of "senioritous" and is more interested in playing with her friends than she is in practicing softball. DD gets pulled and throws in the bullpen to try to get her timing back. They put her back in to pitch the 2nd inning and she does OK for the rest of the game...not great, but OK and we end up losing 4-7.
Well I am still so pissed off about the first inning that I call the DW and tell her that I am making DD stay for the other games because she was so pathetic in the first one. DW was not happy about it, but could tell by the tone of my voice that I was NOT a happy camper. So in the 2nd game DD is hitting and gets a couple of innings at 1B, which was nice. About the 4th inning of the 2nd game the head coach of the team we are playing in the 3rd game tells me that DD's college coach is coming to watch the 3rd game because she has 3 future player in the game (DD and 2 players from the other team). Needless to say this about sent me into cardiac arrest. DD and I warm up together between games and she pitches much better in the 3rd game - pitched three hitless innings. Still batted like crap, but they did not recruit her as a hitter!
