I bet lots of girls were playing this weekend. It was a big weekend for tourneys around here. How did your players kick butt this time?

We played a 7GG. Two girls (we carry 11) got sick Friday so we were scrambling for a pick up, but everybody was playing. So we rolled with 9. We are trying to just ease DD back in because of that growth plate issue so she couldn't pitch much; our other pitcher's back to about 75% recovery from her broken ankle, and our #1 catcher was having knee tendon issues. Despite all that, we went 6-3 and won the (silver bracket) championship. It was a really good weekend.

DD hit 3 homeruns (plus a triple with an error that took her home). To the fence. One was SO CLOSE to going over (never hit one over before) it bounced right at the fence line. It looked like it was gone but fell in; one tiny breeze and that ball was gone. Next time :D She only pitched 2 games but had a 0.000 ERA. She pitched a no hitter/shut out in the championship and was one walk away from her first perfect game.

DD is really coming into her own. She had a really good weekend. I talked to her about how she thought she was doing and had to give her a dose a reality. She thought she was doing extremely poor. She was .818 on Saturday and .750 on Sunday. 1 error from the whole weekend. Really proud of how she did this weekend.

Went 3-0 for pool in the USSSA March Madness 12U A but unfortunately all bracket games were cancelled on Sunday for 12 & 14U due to rain.

I know some people who are NOT HAPPY about this. Well, really all the people are not happy. Was it really that bad up there? We were in Conyers so pretty far SW of there but it was perfect weather and the fields were fine. They just delayed the games a tiny bit on Sunday. ETA: they rained out 10U also.

We live about 15 minutes away from Central Park (where 12U played) and we got very little rain here (north Fulton/Cherokee). I don't know about the park since I didn't drive up there to check it out.

DD had an issue with the growth plate in her hip at that age. It was pretty scary. I hope your little one has a speedy recovery.

It's in her hip as well. Left iliac crest apophysitis, says the ortho. She took about a month off pitching and this was her first tournament back. She had zero pain while pitching so we're feeling encouraged but still taking it slowly. We've got another 7GG this weekend and will likely pick up a pitcher to take the burden off our injured ones. We're having bad luck with injuries and illness so far this spring!

DD made varsity this weekend as a freshman!

They had a 3-game round robin scrimmage on Saturday and coach played her at SS for every inning of all three games. DD was originally just hoping to make the team and now has a legit shot at being the starting SS. Coach told her she loved her energy and attitude.

DD's a peanut, so it was great seeing her play with so much confidence even though the other girls were much larger. Ever since we had the "journey" conversation, she's been playing with more heart and smiles. Looking forward to watching her play for the HS team!

DD’s was called a slipped capital femoral epiphysis. They had to put a pin in her hip and she was in a wheel chair and on crutches for about 6 months. It seems like an eternity, but that was only 8 1/2 years ago. God they grow up quick. Enjoy this time with your DD!

First HS game as a freshman 2 for 3 and a bases loaded BB. 5 innings at 2B then got the chance to catch the last inning - compliments from the umpire on her technique! Big first win for the team too!
