Seems like maybe enough teams are playing to support a Monday brag thread again? we started up a few weeks ago but I figured early Feb was probably not very active for most teams. So what did your awesome DDs do this weekend?

We played a friendly with 3 other teams, 2 of which were A teams (we are not). The first game we just didn't hit at all but we won the 2nd, and lost in a very close 6-5 game to one of the As. This was with our #1 and 2 pitchers both injured.

We had some really killer defensive plays. My DD was at SS and her main catcher was catching for another pitcher. They have known each other since they were 5 and 6 so they have this synergy about them. DD was on the move towards 3B, runner trying to steal. Catcher threw her the ball while she was on the move, she caught it and made a perfect tag. It was just really pretty.

Another time we had 2 outs, runners at 2 and 3. Catcher threw to 3b, runner at 2B took a lead. 3B fired it to 2B and 2B tagged her out. It was a planned play that went really smoothly. I'd put our defense up against just about anyone. Now, if we could only hit more consistently. Our first game every single girl hit 0.000. haha

DH made a highlights video, because we're dorky that way. :)

I'll bite! DD's league had opening day this weekend. She's in 8U, so it's modified kid pitch (coach pitches after four balls to a batter). DD went three innings, one hit, no runs. I can't remember if she got to ball four on two or three hitters, but she did go one inning without coach having to come in to pitch. Four strikeouts.

As for hitting, she got on base all three times - HBP, RBI single, and a triple (a bona fide triple, not a single and two overthrows).

DD's goal is to make her league's all-star gold team this year and she's definitely starting off strong.

WOO-HOO! We played a warm-up this weekend. More important than our finish, we know what we need to work on (still some rust to work off), girls came back after a loss and a tie and beat both teams. They seemed to get better as the day continued (and the temps got colder)!!

DD executed a beautiful bunt for a suicide squeeze. Gorgeous.

Pretty early for us in the northwest but DD played in her first indoor tournament. First pitching to live hitters this year so you always wonder if there will be rust or nerves. In her first game she gave up one run and k'd six in her pool game. Short games so it was only 3 innings. Good win though as this team went on to make the finals in the gold bracket later in the tournament.

Second game was the finals in the dreaded bronze bracket. :) Complete 3 innings again with 7 k's and no runs allowed. One over the minimum. Good way to get the rust off.

1st tournament of the season and the girls took 2nd place against some of the best 12u talent in the state! Great start to the season!

No softball this weekend, but my daughter got to watch her favorite pitcher throw a couple innings. She then built up the courage to ask her for an autograph. Delanie Gourley was fun to watch and made her weekend.

Keep doing these through out the years, and you will get some decent footage of how much she grows/progresses. Great video. :)

Thanks! I was watching some of her pitching from last year's videos, compared to now. Wow, what a difference a year makes. She was the first pitcher in this video, the inning and a half she got to pitch before her side started bothering her.

One of the best things about this weekend, oddly enough, was watching our #3 come in and save the day though. She had a really good day, 7 strike outs. She's used to pitching 2-3 innings in a tournament. She pitched most of 2 games and part of a 3rd this weekend. She was so tired afterwards! But she did great.
