My dd played against a team today whose pitcher was taking the rubber with the ball in her glove. The ASA umpire, upon her coach's appeal, stated it was a legal pitch. I would love to hear from some members, and their interpretation of "showing the ball."

Here is an elementary principle revisited, but it is so fundamental, I thought it worth sharing...

I don't want to sound like a commercial, but my dd (14 yrs old), began taking pitching lessons from a wonderful man who was trained in Tennessee at Club K (founded by Cheri Kempf). There may be some folks out there who disagree, but it has been my dd's personal experience that the instruction...

Might only be me, but the gray task bar along the bottom of the page distract me when I read. Particulary that you can see through context of the post through the gray bar. It is possible to move it to the top or side.
Hope all is well,

My son and dd have started sport conditioning at a local gymnastics facility, and it has generated a lot of excitement. The sport conditioning in these primary stages are focusing on vertical jump, balance beam, climbing the robe, crossing the foam pit, trampoline, jump robing, cricket pushups...
Alright, ya'll, we need you to weigh in...
My husband has been told women teach differently then men. To me, the right way is the right way...I don't care if a martian teaches it. :)
He wants to know where the wrist is snapped and ball is released along with the body positions. It seems...
Anyone with good fundraising ideas?
- I think the magazine subscription to raise funds is a great idea.
- Most teams in this area work events (i.e. Coliseum, NASCAR races, etc.). It generates a lot of money, but takes a lot of coordination.
- Photography has a lot of possibilities. It is...
With two parents and three very active and involved young adolescents, I would be interested in hearing how the families juggle the activity. We have two travel players (softball/baseball). This means two to four practices per week...Nike Softball Camp is next week, Basketball Camp is next...
Good morning ya'll...
Anyone who knows me personally will tell you how strongly I believe parents, teachers, and coaches have almost too much power. Power that can build or break. Firm is fine, shaming crosses the line. Many years ago, I told one of my son's baseball coaches that he would be...
I am enrolling my dd in a three day self defense class this summer. She is attractive, charming, polite, and a good ball player. She is beyond the age of me accompanying her to the concession stand, and the parks we play in usually have 4-6 fields. I don't think it will be a waste of time...
I would like some input on who carries the highest quality innovative uniforms. We are in the process of ordering uniforms...personally, I would go with Under Armour, but they don't have the patterned choices some of these other companies offer. This age group wants "the look." I feel like I...
I would love to hear about great coaches (any sport) and what, in your opinion, made them great. It could be an Olympic coach, a Major League coach or a coach you had as a child. Doors are wide open on this. What were their attributes? What did you observe that was most memorable to you...
Interesting footage. There are so many differences between baseball and softball. Some of which cannot be compared. See Jenny Finch on FSN Sport Science (great show :-)

You have been reading the outline of my book that I will never write...lol!! My husband has a great coaching style with knowledge of the rules and game. However, what he has learned (the hard way) is that team and coaching philosophy must be out front when bringing on new talented...
Okay folks...you are going to think I am crazy, but I research extensively as part of my job. I read a lot of clinical material, theses, etc. I am currently helping a local gym in building their programming, and I have discovered that there are more benefits to juggling than I would have ever...
I would like to hear some feedback on these two theories:
a) When hitting the corners, do you believe the direction of the front foot should point to the location...
OR
b) Front foot plants on power line and adjust the arm to the location...
My dd has had two reputable instructors teach...
