Does anyone have the agenda items for proposed rule changes? Not sure if they have been released yet. I have heard rumor of that they were looking into moving the pitching distance to 43' for the 14U's this year. Anyone in the know?
They had Shawna Wright, Kaitlyn Inglesby, Kimi Pohlman and Morgan Stuart come out to work with them. It was fun for the girls and it's nice for the younger girls to hear their idols say the same things to the girls that the coaches tell them.
Either FED or ASA rules.
Pitcher pushes off and lands with front foot. Back foot drags, then comes off the ground after front foot lands, but before the ball is released.
What's the call under both rule sets?
I think it's legal in FED because of rule 6.1.2.C. "The pivot foot may remain in...
Our first tournament was this past weekend and what great weather. I had to snap this picture with the backdrop of Mount Rainer. As for the team I was helping with, they went 7-0 behind some great pitching.
So I was reading a Little League umpires board I belong to and a questioned popped up. Read the question and answer below. My question, being a rules junkie, does this apply with ASA or Fed rules?
The question:
Runner at 3rd., 2 outs, Batter hits a shot to SS, in the confusion the player...
ASA rules.
Pitcher brings her hand together for more than 10 seconds. PU calls out IP and then kills the play. Shouldn't the PU signal IP and then let the play continue? Delayed dead ball. I didn't argue, as my runner was allowed to come home and then a ball given to the batter.
Also, how do I...
I'm in need of a new coaches bag. In the past, I toted along an equipment bag with a retractable handle and wheels. After three years of use, I blew out a tire and I'm in need of a new bag. I'm also looking to downsize to misc small equipment, repair items, 1st aid kid. In the past, I had team...
I have been video-taping several of my girls' swings and I notice that a couple of them tend to have their rear elbow in front of their hands during the swing. They end up serious bat drag because of this. Is there any drills or something that some of you use that helps to fix this?
Sorry, I...

Here are the FP items that will be discussed during next month's ASA meeting.
Rule 2.1 Move pitcher’s plate for 14U to 43’
Reasoning: To bring players in line with HS.
Rule 2.3 Double base defined as 15X30X5(max)
Reasoning: Insure both halves of the base are the same height.
Rule 3.1 Safety...
A friend called mine and asked me how to score this. Tie game in the top of the 7th and his pitcher is pulled with R3 and no outs. New pitcher gets 2 K's and 2BB's. She then throws a wild pitch to allow R3 to come home. Next batter pops up to end the inning with visitors now up by one. Home team...
So I often wonder why coaches at the younger levels teach this. Girl on 3rd. Batter gets a walk and runs straight to 2nd. It works at 10U and most 12U levels but against good teams you're not going to get this given to you. So what is the point? Is it to beat up on lesser teams? You're going to...
How's it played out where you're at. We had a tournament this weekend and the TD says that at the time limit that's your final score. No reverting back to the previous inning, so the visiting team gets the advantage with an extra at-bat. Example, we entered the last inning tied. Our team was the...
I've got a couple girls, ages 8-10, that I'm having trouble conveying what I want done during the swing. The 'old school' in me wants to revert back to the 'squish the bug' to get them to bring their hips through and not end up standing on/over their front leg. Without going into the whole...
