What equipment do D3 colleges provide?

Congrats! DD is starting her D3 career. We supplied cleats, bat, glove..actually, most everything so far

    Anxiety and excitement....mine, not hers

No, i didnt. Didnt mean to imply i did. Winter workouts with her travel team i did watch, so i knew where she was before HS started. As far as the HS players, i already knew all of them and where DD stacked up. The college thing is just different. Without the eye test, just not sure exactly...

    Anxiety and excitement....mine, not hers

Sent DD off to school last week. Tomorrow starts the fall workouts. I did a really good job hanging back and letting the kid do her thing her Sr HS season, and let loose a bit more for her "farewell" travel tour...but this will be different. At just over 2 hrs away, I now cant even watch...

Just dropped her off at college

Just did the same today too Murph. It doesn't seem like it should be happening yet...i mean, she was just a hs freshman yesterday

    Hittrax

There is one at All Pro Baseball/Softball academy om Williamstown, NJ. Probably about an hr from you though. DD only been on it a few times, but always interesting.

NBD - On The Ghost Train

DD has been thru 3 LS Xeno's in 2 yrs. 5'2, 110lbs...i really dont feel like she should be breaking 34/24's at that clip. Made the switch in July to the Ghost, along with her 3 hole hitting teammate..zero issues. Both swing it exclusively, except off the machine. Just our experience

Reality has sunk in for DD1

DD is 17 now and I still dont think she has hit her peak at all. Still getting better ever year. Regarding the D1 stuff, yeah you have to be a stud to be on one of the top 25-30 teams....mid to lower level D1's though, i think she would be suprised what the competitive D3 programs could throw at...

    DFP DD College List

Really like this post, and am quite curious myself. Unfortunately, I only see D1 players. I really dont think that was quite the intent of the post. I know there are more of us out there with DD's playing or commited...D1 or not. Here, we all know that D1 is not just about ability, but also...

    concussions

Interesting reading, and something I am now familiar with. I would go a step beyond just baseline and become an advocate for a return to play protocol, which is required by the NFL and many other major sports leauges. I will share DD's story from Sept '16 to March of '17. DD, who was 16 at...

    Arm Sleeve

That was such a PITA this past HS season. DD wears one in honor of a lost coach she had...which was digital and not a team color. When we switched to a solid team color, it was also rejected because the logo was a different shade. I guess the part that made it difficult was really the lack of...

    The DD and A.D.D.

Thanks Bob....my only wish is that others find good info within. DD not the only one, but perhaps it helps others in similar situation or perhaps coaches? Idk..In the end, i just want to see others in the same place realize it is workable and you can still make a mark in the future. DD went d3...

    The DD and A.D.D.

Had to do a lot of digging to find this one again, but since we are into our sr year, i would do a recap in case someone else finds it helpful. I have learned that most of what i was questiong early, was way too premature. Looking back, the fact of the matter was that the meds helped a lot...

    Lotief?

Been following the news articles on the situation...last I read, ULL was not going to allow the current players to transfer without penalty. I can not see anything where they have changed their stance on this, yet I see Oregon got a nice new player recently. What happened? Obviously i missed...

    Outfielders

As a father of an outfielder...i think they get the get the short end of the stick on talent...most people only remember the spectacular grab...but a good outfielder can make difficult pkays look routine..whether its a good route, or great speed that closes the gap to the ball. My personal...

    2018 Easton Ghost

Just curious, what is the difference in the ASA and Usssa standards? I know both are limited to the 98 mph exit, but pretty sure Usssa standard is that is max exit for lifetime of the bat..meaning even if it gets hotter, it will never exceed 98 exit. Does ASA still go with 98mph exit from...

When you think of a slapper...

Not wrong there...just not always practical. Certainly not all, but most slappers, especially conversions, may not ever get there since they probably lacked power to begin with. This can change over time though with work. DD converted to left side at 11. Slowly gained power over the years. At...

    Slap Hitting Rules

Nothing actually to do with the rules, but my experiences with a slapper DD and slappers in general. DD began slapping as an 11yr old, so 1st year 12u. I've never actually had any "rules" issues. Some of the umps werent exactly use to seeing much slapping at that age. The girls are young, and...

    Android slow motion video app?

I use HudlTechnique...forget what it was called before it changed names. I like it..forget if it does frame-frame. I've never had a need for that

    Sad week

So very sorry for the loss. Its a very difficult thing to go through. DD suffered the same heartbreak just a few years ago when her beloved coach passed unexpectedly. He was her hitting coach who had a very well respected 18u A team. He really took her under his wing and treated her just as one...
