You're right. There doesn't seem to be much dispute that transgenders can have an advantage at high levels. At the lower levels, I can't see turning away children who want to play a sport.
People seem to have the discussion mostly within the navigational buoys. It was interesting.
I've noticed that people who are pounding the table against transgender inclusion immediately cite problems with high-level competition.
However, they avoid the much more difficult and common issue of transgender children playing low-level sports.
In 12U rec level youth sports, I agree with you. Co-ed sports are so common now. Who cares?
It gets a lot more dicey as the level of play increases.
E.g., Caitlin Clark was offered 5 million dollars after college. She's a great women's basketball player, but there are hundreds of male...
Youth sports is one thing. Some 10YOA kid comes up to me and asks to play softball, it would be hard for me to say "No."
Where big money is involved, the whole thing becomes very complicated.
Would some people take dangerous drugs simply to get a fat paycheck? Lance Armstrong, Ron Guidry...
We are not going to argue whether transitioning should be allowed.
You're stating conclusions without providing any reasons. Simply saying, "it's wrong because it's wrong" isn't an argument. Again, there is no scientific proof *as of yet* that transitioning males after a year have an advantage...
You might want to read the scientific articles. There is no proof *YET* that there is an advantage. There may be proof in the future, but not today.

Whether you agree with the other side or not, it might be helpful to understand their position.
The vast majority of people who play sports are mediocre. They play sports to compete and for fellowship with other players, not to win. After all, sports are supposed to be about learning...
I don't know where I come out on this issue. It's difficult.
I assume you believe, like me, that athletic competition is a valuable experience for children and adults. It's hard for me to exclude kids from playing sports.
On the other hand, it takes about a year for the hormones to...
NOTE: This is a news item related to transgender athletes. HOWEVER: No hate. No stupid jokes. Act like adults.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) decided Monday that transgender women—or female gender–identifying individuals who were assigned male sex at birth—may...
First, get the IR correct. The thread "IR in the Classroom" is great for developing the IR motion. Most of the drills can be done as part of pitch and catch.
I learned to throw IR "for the heck of it" when my DD was learning. My DD and I now mostly play pitching and catch IR underhanded...
Teach her to play pitch and catch underhand.
No one would teach a boy to pitch until he could play pitch and catch overhand. Yet, everyone tries to teach girls how to pitch before they can play pitch and catch underhand.
Have her take the ball, go around the circle, and throw it. No windup...
That sounds like something from Ed Serdar. Thanks!
My favorite Ed story: He's coaching 3B. The batter swings at a pitch at her chin. She takes the next pitch, which is at her shoulders. The ump calls it a strike. The batter looks down at Ed with that "Can you believe he called it a strike"...

One of the biggest stories from the 2024 NCAA men’s basketball tournament was Oakland’s 80-76 first round win over blue-blood Kentucky. Jack Gohlke, a graduate student, hit 10 threes in the upset. Gohlke spent five years in Division...
