Thank you for your reply. I really do appreciate it.
Per the Exceptions to the rules laid forth they don't observe the Flex player position. I am guessing this is an attempt to simplify the process of substituting.
First travel tournament in the fast ball universe. I have reviewed the information in the NFHS rules book, as well as the exceptions for Top Gun Sports.
I have 13 girls on the roster and planning to bat entire roster in the pool games. If I understand the rules correctly then I should be able...
Ahh, I had a feeling I wasn’t needed. I guess I will contact my parents and let ‘em know coach is hanging it up and that their kids will do alright in the yard.
I 100% agree that kids need to work at home. But if they can’t hit while at practice how in the heck are they going to hit at home...
Yeh I definitely feel the time crunch. I honestly end up being at practice for around 2 hours anyways as it feels like I am always spending that last bit of time wrapping up with someone. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks for the insight. What all do you work on during your 4 hour Saturday practice? As far as your pitchers and catchers do you work with them or do you expect them to go find a coach?

So how do you get hitting work in? I tried to approach it in that way previous seasons and it has bitten me in the butt with kids woefully unprepared to step in the box. Even kids that have private instructors.
Hey all! I am back again. I was able to get my travel team all together and the girls are having a blast and really improving.
Running into some issues with juggling everything though. My wife the rockstar that she is helps me coach as well as handles all of the team management stuff. Normally...
I will take her, lol 2 of my pitchers play short stop and 2 play first base, they rotate with each other. I don’t care what their secondary is. If I like the kid and they work hard and have a lot of heart and push and motivate the team we do the g wiggle and work it out. I want them to play...
One of my big concerns is in regards to no one showing up to tryouts lol.
I guess I shouldn’t worry about that if it happens it happens, what will be will be you know.
So far the program and I have been on the same page with expectations of a season etc. We are fully aiming to be...
Thanks, I have 2 pitchers and a catcher (my DD) that currently play with me in rec that I am testing those waters with. Traditionally our rec org has some angst towards travel due to politics between organizations. I just want the kids to play, get better, and be competitive. There is a catcher...
Yeh I am sorry I worded that wrong, in rec you have to bat entire roster, but in TG you can bat as few as 9. Gives options.

Yeh we are aiming for summer, tryouts are set for April 23 to start working out and getting ready to hit in summer and fall. I have to finish my rec season out which ends mid May. Really just trying to get a jump due to how long it takes for uniforms and the like.

Yeh Elite 9, lol. I believe that there is another team called the Palmetto Dragons in the FtMill area as well. I think the girls that were playing just all aged up and no one has stepped up to fill the gap which is what I am trying to do. I know there are numerous 12-14U teams operating in the...
Hello all! 3rd season head coach with all experience being in Rec ball. I have found an organization that has been specializing in Travel Baseball for the last 14 years that is wanting to broaden their outreach to girls through softball. I have been actively talking with the owner of the...
As a coach of a 10U rec team and trying to move into coaching tourney ball, I welcome questions and feedback from my players. I always want to get information from them so that I can know whether I am helping or hurting their progression. Kids are actually highly intuitive and can provide great...
Yeh already have an assistant that rides my daughter hard. Usually for no reason or something simple like sitting on my bucket resting her legs between innings as a catcher. I am starting to see what people mean though about recruiting parents not girls.
it’s weird for me. At practice we almost hardly interact with each other. I try to give her space and treat her like the other girls. Not sure if I am doing it right or not but it works for us for now.
Yeh we are looking to make a move to travel next. Just trying to give her as much time as possible to get better and kind of mature up a little bit. Can see she is still awkward. Thanks for the advice!
Fall and spring season, she is 9 and her birthday is January 6th with an age cut off of December 31st. Our first league had age cut offs in august with only a spring season. And she got placed into the 10u age bracket. Moved to another league with fall and spring and change in cut off date so...
