What age did you buy a nicer catcher's mitt?

41 - my hand was begging for more padding once DD pitches reached about 45mph or so. Rawlings gg elite....stiff glove initially, but great now.

    Let them play ...

This is something I'm glad I recognized early on with my girls, think 8u was the most wacky I got before I had the realization that I needed to chill out and enjoy the ride. Both still love the game and play as teens.

Brands and style of leather softballs you use?

Any noticeable difference between the Rawlings FPCIFSS and the regular Dreamseam from a pitchers perspective? Had someone tell me there is, but specs look the same to me...maybe seam height!? 🤷 Wondering if I should find some to practice with since I understand HS will be using these.

Looking for ideas on how to keep a pitching mat from sliding on an indoor turf surface

Actually- set beads of silicone on the underside of the mat itself and let cure. We are using it in a paver surface like this which has a bit more texture than a smooth garage floor might have. YMMV

Looking for ideas on how to keep a pitching mat from sliding on an indoor turf surface

We use ours on concrete as well except the underside of our mat is smooth. We started with bricks on the corners but it would eventually go crooked. Went to HD and bought clear silicone and laid out some thick beads and let dry. Has been gripping Great!

    1st time 12u tryout - pitching

Had the same dilemma, decided to just maintain status quo until 10u was done. The distance and size change did affect my daughter a bit....was more of a mental limitation with her arm speed slowing down. After her team won the championship I was ok with that decision to hold off. The biggest...

    Ghost differences

This thread prompted me to pull the trigger on the Ghost Adv. for my daughter's bday next week. Ended up giving it to her early and all I can say is wow! Shes small, 85lbs 12u and has great timing and consistent contact but the ball would just die on contact with her old bat. Last night she...

    Ghost differences

Just curious as I've been looking into a new bat as well, and know nothing at this point other than composites are great for the most part but eventually crack- what is the difference between dual stamp and advanced? Is one not allowed in certain situations?

Social Media/Instagram as a training aid?

Very cool software, thanks for the recommendation on Qustudio! On Android, Maybe I can figure out a way to just screen record the instagram videos and send them as a message.

    2020 LXT 31/20

Might be a bit big for DD at the moment, but I can do $140

Social Media/Instagram as a training aid?

Trying to approach this with some thought and value opinions from any fellow parents. DD 12u enjoys the game, is naturally athletic etc., but once practice or games are over, she turns off the "switch" until the next event. I understand this is healthy and ideal from my perspective and is good...

Do you attend your daughter's practice?

My Daughter pitches as well- I once stepped away from a "high pressure" situation she was in (restroom break), as I just couldn't bear to watch. She was facing the #4 batter, bases loaded, up by one run with two outs....championship game on the line (rec ball). After the cheering settled I...

Do you attend your daughter's practice?

I still do with DD at 12u and seem to be in the minority. Partly because its my time to decompress from the day and be outside and also to see what things I can help her work on at home.

    Glove Recommendation for 9yo DD?

I would recommend the A500 Siren. It's inexpensive, easy to break in and they were used from 8u thru 10 without any issues by my girls. We had the older grey color, different options now I think.
