Favorite Pitch Counting App (speed not necessary)

I ended up buying a bucket and two dozen balls. I ask my DD to throw two buckets of singles, doubles (circles on one knee), normal pitches, and K-throws into a net so she could do it on her own. If I’m sitting on the bucket I got a second bucket to keep the 24 contained for her and started not...

    Olympics 2021

never mind, just looked at it again, it was Ueno and she stepped about the time she got the ball

    Olympics 2021

Yes, I though I saw the catchers foot move on the replay.

    Olympics 2021

Was that obstruction by the Japan catcher in the 1st? Foot moved and subsequently blocked her hand from progressing to score, just before she had the ball. Too close of a bang-bang play? I feel like that may have changed the game with a score that early.

    Olympics 2021

Can somebody help me understand why the US team would attempt (and fail) a steal of 2B with two out in the bottom of the 6th (score 0-0) against Australia yesterday?

    Catcher's mitt for dad

I was in a very similar situation this Spring. Based discussions on DFP I ended up getting an All-Star CM3200SBT (33.5") from Dicks and it's working out well for a bucket dad for DD pitching and rec coach. Sign up for the text messaging and you may get a $20 off $100 purchase so you will need to...

    Look back v. leaving early

Trying to follow up on everyones questions/comments. Thank you everyone for your help. @mmeece Details have gotten a bit fuzzy since then but I'm confident the runner had lead off from 2B on the next pitch and the catcher had thrown the ball back to pitcher in circle she's walking towards 2B to...

    Look back v. leaving early

Correct, she wasn't called out. It just got me wondering if there is a distinct difference between the two.

    Look back v. leaving early

When does the look back rule "end" and leaving early begin? Last night under NFHS rules I had my only runner on 2nd and before the pitcher was ready to pitch but in the circle with the ball, she took off for third. If I understand look back correctly she's allowed to go but she's commited to...

    Glove clarification

I ended up getting the CM3200SBT. I'm happy with the fit and sound, except for the second knuckle on my middle finger the piping is very stiff and is causing a little pressure/pain. Is there any appropriate way to loosen that up besides playing catch?

    Can o' worms

I feel she can appropriately see and direct corrections in form at least for now. I'm not getting the impression she is just regurgitating what she was taught. Near Jackson, MI

    Can o' worms

I don't know but compared to others its probably around 20? I feel like her accuracy and speed are incrementally improving. Central southern lower Michigan, I feel the HS/travel coach will be adequate later this Fall, I like her very objective and straight forward discussions, she doesn't give...

    Can o' worms

@fanboi22 yep I feel like I can already observe the HE- I/R difference. I think I finally saw one other girl last night on the other team throwing I/R. Otherwise the three other pitchers on my team, two of which are AC DD (one AC pitched in HS 10? years ago) and most of the other pitchers in our...

    Can o' worms

@Hillhouse She's in rec this year and we finish up close to the end of June. I have lessons scheduled with the to be Freshman coach through summer and none with the HS/travel coach, and anticipate keeping it that way until university classes start and then probably go back to the HS/travel...

    Can o' worms

She's getting better at throwing hard. We only throw about 30 feet in our yard as that's about all we have. I have mentioned to DW that we need to find a more open space with fewer windows and longer distance to play catch at longer distances.

    Can o' worms

She technically has two, one who is a HS coach and national travel team coach and a second who will be a Freshman pitcher this fall at a local university. The HS coach has relatively limited availability and the freshman pitcher is a bit cheaper for lessons this year. I know we will probably get...

    Can o' worms

Most importantly I totally get that we have a long, long road ahead. My 12U DD just started softball and pitching this year. She is getting weekly lessons and putting in time doing a few drills about 3 times a week with a power net. Just curious if there is a general timeframe when I might...

    Glove clarification

What are your thoughts on the CM3200SBT? I'm mostly in the buy once cry once camp for things, what would you recommend for a catchers mitt since this is my DD first year in softball & rec? She is still adamant that she wants to pitch so I'm anticipating continuing next year.

    Glove clarification

I would like to revisit this briefly. 1. While I fully agree a 12.75 outfield pattern would work. Would a 1B mitt work even better for a coach? 2. My 12yo DD just started pitching lessons and I expect I will have to catch for her in the relative future. May this change your answer for question 1...
