    Hitting grounders

Lol yeah I didn’t say they were much better. Though in my opinion I do consider groundouts to be better than pop ups (by pop ups I mean the hits where the ball goes straight up and doesn’t make it out of the infield. I’m not talking about the “pop ups” that are just long fly balls that the...

    Hitting grounders

I mean hey grounders are better than strikeouts lol. In all seriousness my youngest dd also struggled with the hitting a lot of grounders problem and let me tell you there is nothing harder than getting a defiant teenager to change their swing just slightly. She says that the hits work and we’ve...

    Please sign up

DFP has helped me with so many things. I mean all the amazing people here have changed my daughter’s lives. If it weren’t for you guys my 2nd oldest daughter never would’ve begun slap hitting and she never would’ve been emailed by her dream school. I truly want to thank all of you so so much for...

    Batting Philosophy

In my opinion the perfect 1 and 2 are speedy slappers with a high obp and batting average, 3 should be a good all around hitter with good power, good contact, and decent speed, 4 should be you best pure power hitter that has the highest batting average, 5 should be your 2nd best pure power...

    end of season

Woah your guys’ school ball season is in the fall?! Here our school ball season always takes place in the spring because the fall is so cold. Usually fall is for the indoor sports like volleyball and basketball. Anyways I love the type of hitters who go into an at bat and get a hit super early...

Bat recommendations for 10 y/o travel player?

I might be biased since dd has a prism but I see a lot of kids at that age swinging a prism. Me and dd think it’s a pretty good bat that’s got a nice mix of power and contact (it’s also decently durable). It’s also really good for those smaller girls who are contact hitters because of how light...

    Recruiting - Decision Time!

Good job to you and your Dd. You both worked so hard and I’m glad you found the school that’s right for her! Excited to see where her softball career goes from here!

    Tired of pathetic bat durability

Surprised the prism broke but I guess no matter how well bats are made they’ll all break eventually (some earlier than others sadly). Demarini bats are usually pretty tough though. DD’s had her prism for a while now and it’s held up pretty good but she’s a slapper who doesn’t make a ton of hard...

    A/B/C

National teams: Some of the best teams in the nation with great hitters all down the line up, amazing fielders, and a very strong pitching staff A: The top teams in the state. Usually very strong hitters all the way down the lineup and some really good fielders. Their pitchers might not be as...

    WHAT WINS GAMES

Once was on a team that had so many good hitters but we just could never win cause of errors. The team’s defense was so bad we would always give up around 4-8 runs on errors alone and then we’d have to try and scramble to make up for the errors with our hitting.

Demarini Prism Plus vs CF 2021

I feel like the sound of the prism is either a thing the kids really love or really hate. My dd personally loves the sound the prism makes (at first she thought it was dead but over time she got used to it and really started to enjoy the sound). I swear that whenever a bat performs slightly...

Demarini Prism Plus vs CF 2021

Dd uses the new prism and really likes it. The bat is really balanced but also has a good amount of pop. Definitely made more for a contact hitter than a power hitter though. Dd is quite small and is a slapper so she uses the prism to slap and really likes the balanced light swinging feel of the...

    Jumping Into The Unknown

The roster is probably around 12-16 girls but we won’t know the full size until the fall season starts. Dd really likes the coach and after a long talk with me and her sisters I think she’s going to accept the offer. She’s still nervous though. This team’s fall season begins pretty early though...

    Jumping Into The Unknown

My Dd is currently on a pretty good 16u team. However, next weekend is their last tournament. Dd has had fun with this organization but after talking to the the coaches they told us that this would probably be their last year coaching due to personal reasons. In preparation for next year Dd has...

Scoring Disasters: The Flaws of Letting Unknowing Parents Keep Book

I mentioned in my original post that the defense did try to throw her out but the batter was safe by a good step because of her speed. I feel like if the defense fields a bunt and tries to throw the batter out and they fail then that should definitely count as a hit. however in the scenario...

Scoring Disasters: The Flaws of Letting Unknowing Parents Keep Book

Thanks for helping me see the other side of it. I will definitely be helping out these last couple of tournaments we had.

Scoring Disasters: The Flaws of Letting Unknowing Parents Keep Book

I wouldn’t of posted this thread if the mistakes weren’t as bad as they are. I understand when a scorekeeper rules a hit as an error if an error was involved. Our scorekeeper has credited multiple real hits as errors. For example once a girl hit a line drive into the outfield, the ball landed...

Scoring Disasters: The Flaws of Letting Unknowing Parents Keep Book

Thanks for all the advice and thanks for helping show me how these things could happen. I guess I never quite realized just how difficult game changer could be to use. I’m definitely going to volunteer to help after reading these replies.

Scoring Disasters: The Flaws of Letting Unknowing Parents Keep Book

Hi, my Dd is on a very good 16u travel ball team and all year the same parent has kept book and run the game changer. At first the parent seemed alright at their job, maybe a mistake here and there but nothing insane, and then all of a sudden in the middle of the season it just all went...

    How would you score this?

If you were the umpire in this situation would you call the girl out for going back to first base? I heard some other parents complaining that she should’ve been called out for going back.
