BIG 10 is considering rounding out the teams at 20. This could open up opportunities for ACC teams like Clemson, FS, Miami. ND PAC12 Cal or Stanford. Who else may get an invite?- coachdennis

In our area (SW Ohio) fastpitch needs to be promoted heavy to keep it alive. We have had a huge drop in numbers in local recreational leagues and the ladies are not coming out to play HS. If you want to play college softball, there is a place for you.
There are a bunch of mediocre to BAD college programs at all levels that would and do struggle vs a decent 16/18u travel team that are looking for players like some High school programs. As a HS Coach there are many things that can go wrong with weight rooms. I never allow co-ed work outs. The boys do stupid stuff and the girls at times will too when in mixed company. Its past time to Go... Most any player does not need to play travel ball or pay a ton of money to play in college. Play because you want the travel and play a higher level of ball... A couple things to consider: How is the team organized to the number of 16? EX: Tryouts, sign ups/pay to play? We never used an offer letter. We would make personal contact to make an offer and answer any questions the family may have. In some cases discussions would take place after the tryout.
