Jimmy K., is a great coach and person IMO. He came out to PGF looking at his recruits and agreed to see one of my students that had went to one of his camps. She wasn't up to Oregon standards but stayed the whole game sharing recruiting stories. The next year, the coaching staff leave Oregon...
Follow up to a post almost a year old. The FootDoctor has relocated to the Los Angeles area and I was able to take my granddaughter for a lesson. I’ve been learning from him on line for a few years so the in person lessons are great.
The better hitters usually don't miss and will drive the pitcher's mistakes. The average hitter fouls off or mis-hits those same pitches. The better hitters, at least the HS kids i see, are on time and can adjust better to the pitch thrown. Don't take 400 hitter and turn her in to a 200 hitter.
I'm a HS coach in Ca. The job starts in September and ends in June. I clear $5,500 for the season. I split it with my 3 assistant coaches. Not getting rich out here but I love it. I know some big TB programs make $$$.
I should have mentioned we usually play 1 day tournaments usually 5 games hour twenty drop dead in a day. It gives our #2-3 a chance to pitch in meaningful games. We have an average team with some great kids that enjoy softball and each other. We wanted a bigger challenge getting ready for HS

I broke down your daughters mechanics a little further. The biggest two things are the left knee getting parallel and the ball near the hip so the timing can improve.
You are absolutely correct. I've spent over 26 years studying and teaching 100s of players as a lot of others on this board. Looking at the video of your daughter someone has done an excellent job with her. A few refinements can go a long way.
I had a kid I taught IR to as a 9yr. old. Once she started travel she took lessons from other coaches. She started having pain on the inside of her forearm. It turned out that she would snap IR and HE follow through once we stopped that the pain went away. Check the ball rotation.
They do as part of the stretch and coiling forward IMO. Depending on your style of hitting will determine how much and how active they are. I teach a circle load so the obliques and low back are part of the core focus on in the loading. Some hitters rely too much on the transverse plane. The...
