Because club competition is hard to find and usually pretty bad during the HS season, many girls that don't play HS will run track. It gives their arms a break and they return super conditioned. Just a thought.
Maybe I have Stockholm Syndrom, but $25-$35k a year sounds like table stakes to me. I'd love to hear about alternatives (yes, there's CC but that is only for 2 years.)
Oh, and since you are looking for recommendations, I received a Hawk Ergo bucket top seat for xmas and I love it. I wish I knew about it years ago. So much more comfortable than sitting on the bucket top.
Most of what I know about them is from their Instagram account. I don't recall them talking about what the catcher does with their glove, but you might want to check it out anyway because they discuss some interesting things like how to read practice swings, how to read foul balls, how to call...
At 9 y/o anything will work for at least a year or two. My daughter gave me a baseball catcher's glove that I've been using for years. However, she is 16 now, throws gas, and that glove is definitely not the right choice. You will want something that has more webbing to catch the ball with...

But the book that had the biggest impact on my daughter was https://headsupbaseball2.com/ by Dr Tom Hanson. He worked with FSU...
I watched a few games online this year. My DD has a coach who was an assistant for one of the international teams. I really enjoyed it. The play was solid, but maybe a little uneven at times, so you never knew what to expect. Also, the commentators were a couple of excited Italian guys. They...
My daughter played both this year. I know this is anecdotal, but I saw more scouts at 18U games. The biggest difference I noticed had to do with the player's priorities related to their age. The seniors in particular are all over the place. Some of the girls that are unsigned are playing...
