Was thinking a 12.75 for 1st and OF instead of the 1st base mitt. (the 11.75 is a bit small for 1st and OF). She really doesn't want to play 1st (but does what is asked). OF and middle infield are her preferences. Maybe I'll do that.
She likes the glove snug around her wrist. Other than that she has never mentioned any particular preferences. She currently has a 11.75" Glovesmith that she loves. Her sisters 11.5" Glovesmith is 6 years old with one re-lacing (just graduated from College and that glove got a TON of use). Not...
I've had good luck with Ebay. Bought all our bats there (last year model always saves lots of $$ (three daughters)). Both listing are for new gloves. My dilema will be is how will another glove fit in her backpack with all those half empty water bottles! LOL
She can still use her smaller glove some this fall. Doing Showcases but it would be ready for next summer. We didn't really have a real 1st base this past summer so she was put there and did well. Not sure ... I see two Vinci on Ebay for $100 new.
Mine is getting bounced around a lot. But watching my older college daughter softball I see a lot of that. Hitters get on the field. So if you are a hitter and are versatile on the field there is a lot to be said for that.
The Vinci is new 22/PC CBW-22 13" ... her infield glove is 11.5"...
HS class of 2022 (late start). I see a Vinci for $100 new, Liberty? Plays SS in High School so she has a good infielder glove (she prefers middle infield but has been filling in at other positions and has done well). Travel team (18U Showcase) is now going to use her at 1st and in OF. Not...

This past weekend much better. With middle school over we were able to get back to batting coach ... worked on turning the hips quicker. Also went over that her goal was to get get at least one hard hit ...regardless of whether or not fielded (do not worry about...
Agree that it needs to be addressed now and that it isn't going to happen that quickly. We have had 5 consecutive tournaments, all similar opposition. Each week has gotten progressively less productive as far as hitting goes (she really started out being ahead of the pitch). The fact is that...
Hit well early in season ... same pitching as now. I understand that hitters on field even though they may not field well.
Just looking for some new eyes to help.
You are correct about it being mechanical. But kids this age do feel bad and that sometimes gets in the way. She's a good fielder and always has a good attitude ... but knowing that she is now going to sit if she doesn't go 3-4 on Saturday does put added pressure on a "slump". Advice on how to...
Playing similar teams (some several times) on her Travel team. But she did play on her middle school team and that was not good level & timing somewhat coincides with that. Her thoughts are that she is not swinging right. She was Ok with practicing and working through it until she sat game two...
12U, 5'4" bat is 31/20.
Was hitting well in April first few tournaments. Last three weekends hitting slump. Coach plays those who hit on Sunday game two (she's one of the best fielders and is now on the bench for that game). Have been practicing, part is mental. We get it, but she wants off the...
LOL ... no gag order ...
Things are getting hammered out ... like a giant knot in the hair of a little girl ..
Turns out lots of "he said she said" word twisting behind scenes ... still murky ...
we were going to leave, he was going to leave .....
I don't have a clear answer, a clear...
Your description of coaches "motives" may be 100% nail on the head perspective. I'm sure ego plays some part in this.
A lot of this is being viewed as a vacation for a bunch of them. I'm OK with that part of it ...
(for us it would be more important to go with all our kids, entire family ... we...
