My 2022 daughter will soon head off to play in a mid-major D1 program. Her coach told her to continue to play at the highest level possible. This included a fall and summer full of the most competitive tournaments possible. Training and private lessons are always on the books, but nothing can...
According to the story, Coach did tell her that if you need to leave early to go to work then to leave (and not get out). I’m guessing the player thought she had permission to do so from that statement alone.
You mentioned she’s a below average hitter. My experience is - if you hit, coach will find you a spot. I would focus on improving her hitting and see where that leads.
Live in AZ. Play in Az/Ca/Vegas. Lots of sunshine. My daughter is an OF and sunglasses are a must. She kept loosing or breaking them until we bought her the expensive Oakleys. Now she guards them like a hawk. There are warranties and parts are replaceable.
High quality sunglasses are a must...
DD used both Evo Shield and Team Defender. The evo Shield works, but is difficult to manage and gets lost easily. The Team Defender glove is great. Fits like a batting glove, but has a hard plastic shield built in for the thumb. She was even able to catch with a badly sprained thumb.
