    Player safety when injured

I think EMS should have been called. Especially if she was bleeding profusely. Better safe than sorry. Insurance probably covers that call anyway. I would let my DD play, with the understanding that first aid would be immediate and appropriate; not 15 minutes later!

    Swinging under the ball

According to ChatGPT: Yes, it's possible to change a motor skill through practice, repetition, and focused training. This process is called motor learning, and it involves the brain adapting and creating new neural pathways to improve or acquire a specific motor skill.

    Pitching style, pitch learning priority

By master the fast ball would being able to hit locations consistently be a part of that? Meaning high, in and out and low, in and out.

    Pitching style, pitch learning priority

Amongst the pitching gurus that I’m aware of, Hillhouse, Pauly, Tincher, Scarborough, Balswick, (others?), do these all agree on the same pitching fundamentals? Also, what would be their must-learn pitches? Do all consider bullet spin a serious negative?

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

My bad. I didn’t make myself clear. I understand the 24” rule. What I don’t understand is the 25” measurement. Why not 24” from beginning to end?

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

Does anyone know the logic behind the rule?

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

Learned something. Thanks Dabears17. My apologies Comp. Wonder what the logic is for 25”? My interpretation is that any part of the foot outside the line cannot touch the ground. I guess if football can tiptoe the line softball can also.

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

That doesn’t sound right. 24” pitching lane matches 24” pitching plate. For the purpose of ensuring pitcher stays within the 24”. Why would there be a flare?
  9. S

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

The line stays intact for a few innings. Doesn’t seem equal for the batters being required to stay within the lines and not everyone else.

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

My tv screen must be different. She’s outside the 24” rubber.

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

The reason I asked is watching the Duke vs Michigan State game Jala Wright was landing 8-10 inches outside of the line and skipping back in. Practically every pitch. That is a tremendous advantage for the pitcher. I’ve only ever seen it called in a D3 game.

Are pitchers required to stay within the 24” lines?

What advantage does stepping outside the 24” line give a pitcher? Are the requirements the same as for batters as far as staying completely inside?

I believe these three videos will be extremely helpful.

    Critique my kids swing!

To OP: Excellent video to address your question. She has some other hitting drill videos that you may find useful also.

Dad with some questions about my new pitcher?

I’m impressed with you reaching out for advice for your DD. Great job! This is one of my favorite videos. Rich Balswick also has some excellent uncomplicated videos on YouTube also.

    Critique my kids swing!

I like bat “lag”, not bat “drag”. I’ll try not to engage with you in the future. I don’t like your know-it-all and pissy attitude.

    Critique my kids swing!

You’re not really saying that is foot spin are you? I can discuss things with you but I won’t if you’re going to stoop to name calling.

    Critique my kids swing!

Much better use of lower half.

    Critique my kids swing!

I would strongly advise not to model that particular gif. Especially for a young batter. There isn’t much drive of the lower half. Too much spin. The rear foot has squash the bug tone. Letting go of the bat with one arm is definitely not good for a young batter. Much better examples available.
