What percentage of pitching speeds that we see/hear do you think are wrong

What's the general consensus on how accurate Rapsodo is compared to Pocket Radar?

    Strike out

To quote the great Crash Davis: "Strikeouts are boring. Besides that, they’re fascist. Throw some ground balls. It’s more democratic.”

    Catcher's mitt for dad

I bought a Rawlings Players Preferred 33" model catchers glove from Amazon for < $50. It works great, broke in really quickly, just wish I would've picked it up a couple years ago!

    The death of JV Softball???

Minnesota: So far our school's JV has a full schedule, but there are a few teams in our conference that didn't have enough numbers to have a JV team. I have heard of this being a bigger issue in other parts of the Twin Cities area, eg. school A has a JV team and is struggling to fill a full...

    Change-up Help

DD is a first year 16U, and we've run through quite a few different change-ups. First was a horseshoe, then over the winter one year she just totally lost the feel for that one. Second was a knuckle change, that worked for one year but was just OK, so decided to look for something better...

    How long should it take?~

For my DD she struggled to throw strikes at 10U, but the moment she moved to 12U and started using the bigger ball and throwing at 40' it was like magic. Her strike percentage increased dramatically. She was (and still is) a tall girl with big hands, so moving to the 12" ball was a much better...

Tips for getting pitcher over mental hurdle of behing hit by batted balls

Before her second game last night we talked about going inside and up with her fastball, so if she doesn't have a feel for where to go....go up and in by default. As she seemed to get more comfortable in the circle as the game went along, then started mixing speeds. Will keep working on that...

Tips for getting pitcher over mental hurdle of behing hit by batted balls

We've only been playing for about a month now, so haven't had any sort of break between these incidents and the next time throwing in a game. That being said, we do need to incorporate more fielding work into our practice routines. I'm planning on giving much more focus to your first item...

Tips for getting pitcher over mental hurdle of behing hit by batted balls

I don't think that sounded rude at all....fair questions you're asking. The first time it happened, it was against a team that I would say is better than our team, but we've played them quite a few times and have always played good games against them. The second time it happened, we won the...

Tips for getting pitcher over mental hurdle of behing hit by batted balls

She does wear a mask in all games. I'm picking up a chest protector shirt this morning for her to try. I did get a lesson setup with her pitching coach today, her coach was a D-1 All-American for Minnesota so hopefully she can share some words of wisdom too.

Tips for getting pitcher over mental hurdle of behing hit by batted balls

My DD is a second year 14U pitcher. She started off the season throwing really well, but in a scrimmage she took a line drive off her glove hand wrist. Thankfully no broken bones, but it was sore for a few days. Then not long after that she took a line drive right off the belly button. (for...
