Well said Spartan, I've been using this forum for 7 years. Private instructor for 15 years. Never taught HE, but its so prevalent in my area. I continue to learn something everyday through this site. The time and effort of BM, Java, Rick and others has really impacted my teaching. So...
It looks like the HC was toying with you. Just figured he would find an easy way to annoy you. You said you have a history with this coach - so...
You really have no reason being at a HS practice. Daughter was a 4 year starting pitcher, never attended a practice or interacted with the...
Knighsb - I like your observations. I believe a little more front side resistance would be beneficial. Both have some glove swim but IMO it doesn't have a negative impact on their pitching.
I would study Amanda's relaxed follow through. I don't teach the elbow snap so I'll take a pass on that.
Just some insight from my experience : have I changed my approach to teaching the past 13 years ? Of course, it's a constant learning process? yes, good instructors always will be flexible and adapt. Each student is different, some things work for some and not others. Do all the pitchers...
Have the bushnell III gun, after reading this it looks like it maybe reading 3 -4 mph slower. Had girls that where clocked at an NFCA camp, speeds where 4 mph faster.
I agree on the everything looking the same, although IMO most hitters if they are looking at the pitchers feet, they miss the ball just before the release. I'm sure an elite hitter would be able to pick it up. Anyway when one of my pitchers goes to a winter camp for college, the coaches...
That's awesome. This is the spin orientation used for teaching I/R as demonstrated in board members thread ( what do I Mean ) . A 1/7 2/8 spin, just delay the forearm rotation. I actually teach the inside drop / screw by changing the power line like a screw but throwing the peel drop. So I...
Besides what I mentioned, how are we teaching the inside pitch to have a sharper break ? I don't completely understand the release angle, pressure points, and what else is needed to throw an inside cutter.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Last night I was looking at some old video of pitchers I worked with years ago that in IMO had great mechanics. When viewing this they all displayed really good I/R. Of course I never realized what they where doing that separated them from others.
I always was looking for more knowledge...
In short, there's nothing to be convinced of. The markets is flooded with stuff ($$$). The information is here with what the elite female pitchers do and supported by experts with invaluable in site. Been here for over 4 years. Don't be fooled.
Mr T
Read, read and reread boardmembers posts and the I/R threads. View the best female pitchers posted here. Rick and Sarah Pauly demonstrate visuals that are easy to understand and represent how the elite female pitchers throw.
Funny, I recall him (Fairchild ) walking around tournaments with this flapper on his leg. He was constantly doing arm circles. This was quite a few years ago at suburban Philly tournaments.
Not to promote anyone but Rita Lynn Gilman sells them in different sizes.
