    Drive Mechanics thread missing pics

I was really hoping to use some of the pics/gifs for a young pitchers clinic to show the kids (parents really) the proper way to "pull"the ball down the back side of the arm circle entering the release phase. If someone could repost some that would be great.

    WCWS televised games in Canada

ESPN has been very successful in ensuring that no feeds are allowed in Canada. Can anyone help a fella out? Last year we could watch using Kodi but this year not so much. Any ideas people? I mean short of driving to Buffalo and sitting in a sports bar all day.

Rick Pauly clinic East Central Indiana

Bill looks a little "worn". Did the coaches meeting go late last night?

Rick Pauly clinic East Central Indiana

So jealous. Hopefully having Bill come to Southern Ontario late in April (still working out details). Maybe the road show can cross the border and visit beautiful Southern Ontario in April? Enjoy the weekend everyone. It should be fantastic.

    pitching myths vs truth

Still waiting for "later on riseballs that do rise".

    WCWS Recording

Here in Canada, we are not allowed to purchase ESPN feeds so have to rely on streaming sites like atdheNET.com and such the like. Yesterday's feed was interrupted and unavailable all day  so I had to follow the action on twitter. Better than simply wondering what is going on, but not the...

    Bill Hillhouse.....COME BACK!!!!

Hope Bill is doing OK. My dd saw him in pa some time ago. Would love to see him again for a refresher prior to the season starting up. Anyone know if he still hangs out in the buffalo area from time to time?

    The 'Good Bye' change up

Still, on the lighter side, its a nice way to have a good laugh before turning in for the night. Hal always killed me

A little advice on the arm circle

The first PC my dd was with was similar to what ms Lloyd is teaching. She simply didn't understand how she pitched. Her ball was not facing 2nd at 9:00 but she taught that. She "thought" that was what she was doing and was probably taught that when she was younger but overcame the "teaching" and...

    java

I do believe that there is merit in hiding the grip from opposing hitters and coaches in the higher levels. Baseball pitchers hide the ball as long as they can. Perhaps I am a bit old school from my days of playing fastpitch so I like the cradle style. But given what Java has explained I will...

    java

Thanks Java for the clarification. Happy New Year by the way. I wasn't really referencing the drill so much as the statement by a previous poster related to the arm being straight during the back swing. I believe the back swing to be a required piece of the mechanics but the "how" to be left to...

    java

I believe hillhouse to be correct. His reference at least as I understand it is to keep the arm long and loose, not straight at ANY point in the arm circle. His style of bringing the glove and ball back (the bent elbow I think you are referring to) is just that-style. It is his way of loading...

    Arm speed

In 1996 when this journal was written they did not have the benefit of the slow motion cameras that we have today. So to break down the last 1/4 of the arm motion which is where, IMHO, the whip is "caught" would have been difficult. This journal is helpful but only when taken into context with...

    Cleats: Metal or Molded?

My DD wears moulded to pitch (Ringor) and metal to play other positions. She prefers metal but its an affordability thing. I'm not buying another pair of Ringors simply because she wants metal. Still lots of wear in them. I got the metal for a ridiculous price on line (Reebok Classic $18). She...

    Cleats

My dd uses ringors. Took the factory insole out of them and replaced it with a custom orthotic insert. Fantastic! She is in her second year for this pair. They last a long time

    WCWS vviewing help

I live in Ontario and have to get the ESPN feed through various sites to watch the WCWS and cannot record those video streams. I have been very lucky so far, but tonight I have to coach out of town at 8:30 and so will miss the game. Is there a chance that one of you would be so kind to record...

A father's rant - please be careful out there

My middle dd is 18 and is one of two pitchers on a 21U Provincial team here in Southern Ontario. On her way back to school Easter Sunday she got T - Boned in an intersection by a bozo trying to beat a yellow light . No broken bones but sore all over and concussion. No athletic movements of any...

    Trouble with the change-up!

This can be where HE mechanics actually can help. My DD simply rotates the forearm early (about 9:00 to 8:00 down the backside) so she can't "snap" the ball. She gets as much skin on the ball as possible (palms the ball), holds on fairly tight and releases at the same point as the rest of her...
