Hello I need some help. Okay our end of the season awards banquet is coming up. One of our girls (High School Varsity for what it's worth) was not able to play after receiving a cancer diagnosis. She sat in the dugout with us and kept book when she could. The question that I have is I want to...
As a High School Varsity coach, I easily would say school ball comes first. With that said, you could have a conversation with the High School coach. I excused a girl last season so she could play in a Showcase tournament in Kansas City, but that is the exception to the rule.
I was coaching in a tournament in Tennessee. I was coaching third and argued a call at the plate. The home plate umpire looked at me a said something, I have no idea what he said. It sounded like Boomhauer from King of the Hill. I only said "Okay" and walked back to my coaches box.

Is there access to the rule for pitchers that once they step onto the rubber that the hands must be separated but the ball can be in either the pitching hand or the glove? I don't have a rule book and Wednesday night the other team was complaining that my pitcher did not "present the ball" as it...
Not sure if does or does not help, but yes the batter was between home plate and the pitchers mound. About two to three feet in front of home plate in fair territory. When I questioned the call, the home plate umpire admitted that she was out of the box, did not feel that she ran into the pitch...
I have a quick question. Coaching a high school varsity game last night. A girl from the other team was trying to slap. She went forward in the box, all the way out of the box. She moved in the direction of the pitch and it hit her in the arm. She was completely out of the batter's box. Both...
