    Teams know what the GG is going in. Playing 4-6 games min should be enough. That’s 1/4 of the games I played for a whole summer in LL 35+ years ago..

    Unless Nolan Ryan lives next door, if you want it ready before next spring you will have to pound on it with a dumbbell like @ANNASDAD said along with playing lots of catch.

    Not a fan but mainly because it sometimes causes coaches to prioritize winning in pool a bit more (in particular at the younger ages) if they want to be in the top tier bracket. Sparkler power pool basically did it this year for 14’s because of rain 🤷🏽‍♂️

    I don’t plan on having any more but thanks 😂 We had a verbal spat which I thought was over until he came charging at me from his truck 30 min later as I was taking my boys to the restroom. I am not small but I haven’t got into a fight in 30 years and those were fistfights. He got on top of me...

    You didn't actually propose what you actually do. In terms of your championship aspirations(which you claim is the driving force), not letting a kid play at all (eg they are off the team) if they miss HS game for a TB game is a lot different than benching them the next game.

    I am fine with that but there might secondary "punishments" to every other player (with possible exception being the kid who plays in her place) if sitting her effects how the rest of the tournament goes.. 🤷‍♂️. Personally I wouldn't punish kids for missing games (or practices) if given fair...

    DD’s team has a pitcher who lives a few hours away. She will make weekend practices but understandably isn’t expected to go to weekday practices.

    My kid enjoys practicing with her teammates. I can probably count on two hands the number of TB practices she has missed in 6 years of playing. I just don’t buy the “surpassing at 16U” argument because a kid is missing a team practice once in a while. If the kid is missing every other one then...

    Maybe the kid who misses a practice once a month is also hitting on her own 4-5 times a week. Most coaches put too much importance on their own sacred practices..If my kid ends up being any good 90% of that will be due to what she has done on her own time and her athletic ability..

    Lol…I had no issue with her sitting. That said that would have been an easier match for me than the 260 lb former MMA fighter I got into it with 🤨

    DD missed one tournament for an AAU bball tournament. The softball tournament was garbage and I sort of did it as a protest. Next tournament she sat the first pool game..that was the same tournament where I got into a wrestling match in the parking lot so maybe I should have had her skip that...
