I received the following email last night from RevFire:
We have identified the root cause of the measurement error for those balls. The balls lose calibration resulting in the speed and spin measurements being too high. An updated RevFire app has been developed that provides accuracy through...
I would love to get my hands on a RevFire just to compare it to my PitchTrackers. The only way we've been able to get readings on the PT is to eliminate the backswing, which I'm afraid may cause timing issues when pitching live. Would like to see if the RevFire 2 can register readings with out...
So I received 2 for Christmas and finally tested it out. So far it's VERY frustrating. I get more "Pitch did not start from quiet stable place" than actual readings. This is especially true with throwing fastballs, as we can't get one fastball reading on multiple pitchers. Hoping it's the balls...
Though she's not wirey tall, my DD has this problem every time she turns the laces toward home. She tends to over do it and the knee goes flying pass the hips.
JAD, Kat has done the impossible...make this TarHeel-loving family root for Duke! My 10YO DD loves seeing the progress of all the pitchers growing here on DFP (She calls it the "DD DFPers") and Kat is her favorite since she's a GA girl just like her. Congrats, JAD!!! Job well done and hard work...
What's helped me with the path and plane is comparing the results with the many model swings found here on DFP. Quite a few of the hitting gurus provide illustrations of the bat path/plane many elite hitters use. I use those as a reference point.
Cannot stress this enough. It's key to ask questions. There some PCs out there that will teach totally different mechanics but claim they are teaching IR or "more natural" pitching mechanics. Ask them how they they view the proper pitch from start to finish.
Second place was a problem both DD and I had at the start of our journey until both of us grew tired of what seemed like a never ending see-saw of trying to correct the same problems. Once we settled using our home practices to focus on one thing, her progress started taking off ( largely due to...
This and DD's drive are the current sticking points for us at the moment. My 10u DD is in her 9th month of pitching (Thanks to DFP!), and it seems that this is one of the toughest mountains to climb during the pitching journey.
