DD was/is? (I dunno anymore) a catcher who played the summer tourney season in a corner OF spot during must-win games. She currently lacks the arm strength to the control the running game, and she kind of seems okay with it. She says her body feels better and her hitting overall has gotten...
How'd this end up going for your daughter @SoGASoftball? My daughter's travel team has a discount deal with them, which I found out about today, so just curious on the benefits. Thanks!
What area are you in, tamss? Any consideration in consolidating travel teams to provide a better experience, which, unfortunately, would require more travel for competition?
These are good questions. Root issue is the culture of the team. How does the current team culture aim to prevent this (if at all) - and what could this line of talk/feelings to do a team's culture that DOESN'T address. I'm not sure what the right answer is. But I think to REACH 15 y/o girls, it...
For looking back purposes, Ellie's final line at PGF. We had the unfortunate draw of pulling the eventual champs (Hustle National from Texas) for the first bracket game and had to claw in the loser's bracket. Anyway, to the stats:
.462/.611/.769
2 triples
3 RBI
5 R
5 BB
3 K
Triple yesterday at PGF. Curious, I sorted stats since her first triple in this recent swarm of three-baggers. In her last 25 at-bats, she has 5 triples.
This has proven key for my daughter's swing. If she doesn't resist as much as she can on top, she doesn't control stride and everything goes forward. She then pushes her hands, her balance moves from center to over front leg and she's just putting ball in play (rather than driving it).
Played a couple of friendlies today. Missed the first game as we were vacationing at the beach. Ellie rolled up for games two and three and ended up going 2-4 on the day with a single which led to the game-winning run in game 2 and a 2-run triple and subsequent run scored that gave her team a...
Played a pre-PGF tournament this past weekend, which included most of the top 10U teams around (missed a couple). Ellie added a couple of more triples.
The one hit to right went over the RF's head. She's starting to get some lift to these balls, which is a good sign.
I know it's just an intrasquad scrimmage off of coach pitching (practices ramped up as they prepare for PGF, so he's challenging them), but Ellie is FEELING it right now. She went 5-6 with a HR over the RF head (very average speed, so it's not like she outran the ball), two doubles and two...
Been a while since anything's been uploaded. Fair warning, video dump coming. Overall, Ellie has been struggling with confidence and consistent hard contact over the past 8-9 months or so. But over the last 4-6 weeks things are coming together a bit better. Here's to the roller coaster...
Our 10U travel team did this about a month ago in a tournament. Time had expired, it was international tie-breaker rules and we were winning. I believe this was the first or second out of their last ups. Their coach was SOOOOO pissed. It got ugly, but fortunately just verbal heat was exchanged...
