I was hoping someone was going to have some ground breaking advice [emoji3]. My daughter has struggled with this for years. She has received some unbelievable coaching through her pitching years (currently a sophomore) from several on this board. But a straight arm as always been a struggle...
Thanks for your response. I’m not sure this grip will be for my DD. She has played around with a couple of grips and thought she may try this one. I was worried about hand size. She is a couple of months away from 12 but a decent size kid.
I was reviewing this old riseball thread: https://www.discussfastpitch.com/softball-pitching/31102-riseball-question-2.html
Does anyone have a good picture of the thumb off grip that I could show DD for her to give it a try?
Thanks,
Josh
DD wants to do the Redcord workout Java describes in the Drive Mechanics thread. The problem is I can't find a Redcord system anywhere.
Has anyone used the TRX suspension system for the workout?
Thanks,
Josh
This comment got me thinking. My DD still struggles at times with a straight/locked arm on the downswing. I've never considered this as a potential cause. I don't think it is the case for her but how can one tell if the upswing is too fast? Not sure how to teach slow to the load and explode...
I've shown her clips like the one Shaker has provided etc. and she just can't seem to figure it out. She's a pretty smart kid and really takes coaching well....I just am not sure what to do/tell her to do to help her. Just a dumb bucket dad who has benefited from some really kind people on...
I wanted to post a few videos of regular motion since y’all took a look at the 2-step. Still need lots of work to get off by 3:00. I’m sure there are other things as well...
Just for reference DD is 10...will turn 11 in a couple months.

Maybe a touch better? Still have work to do to get off by 3:00...
We talked about her shoulders and worked on it as we threw. Will continue to concentrate on it.

In an effort not to wear out Ken B, I thought I'd post a video here for feedback. DD (10) really needs to improve her drive so we've worked on the 2-step the last couple practices. We've watched Java's videos a few times but just not sure if she is doing the 2-step as it should be done. The...
DD really likes to wear a compression sleeve. She has an evoshield youth size and it will not stay up longer than a few pitches before she has to pull it up. She is not a small 10yo.
Is there another brand that someone has had better luck with?
