My DD is a lefty. She doesn't throw hard (55 for HS). But she spots and moves the ball. A good curve ball is a real weapon for a lefty. You get a lot of pop ups from right handed batters (or long foul balls) and strikeouts looking on the outer corner against left handed batters. Throwing hard...
When my DD was 12u, the whole team had this problem. One mistake would lead to another and then another. Errors would become contagious.
Our coach took an entire practice teaching the team what to do when they make a mistake. She had a 3 step process:
1) Own the mistake - tap yourself on the...
Congrats to your DD. For what it's worth, I first saw her announcement on Twitter followed by her travel team and workout facility tweets. So there is "some" value to twitter, maybe not much for actual recruiting. Now that she's committed, she can focus all her efforts this spring on defending...
I get what you're doing and it sounds like it was done better than most. However, having the HC right there talking about strengths of a player during the game as the recruiter is watching that player is extraordinarily effective.
One of the best coaches in our area doesn't even coach his team during showcases. He has assistants do that so he can stand behind home plate with the recruiters to talk up the players. This is the most important job, why leave that to a parent/volunteer?
Well if it is still a rule, it is not one that is enforced. Not only does every single team play music for every home batter, the neutral announcers at the state semi finals and championships played it. There is one team that we play who is a perennial powerhouse that has the speakers set up on...
That's not been my experience in NOVA. At the Class 6 state championships, the VHSL announcers played random walkup songs for every player and played them so loud that our pitcher often had to wait for the song to end to get the pitch signal from the coach because she could not hear him yelling...
I have a used Queen of the Hill with the optional drive guides. There's a little rust on the adjustment wrench, and the sandpaper grip is worn off, but the QOTH doesn't have any rust and still works. Originally $369 with the guides.
Asking $200.
I would not recommend having your 3B cross the runner's path to receive the throw. Depending on the situation, the 3B is taking the throw a few feet up the line, or occasionally, the 3B is way up (bunt attempt) and the SS is sneaking in the back.
You can view the scorebook version in game changer at any point on the mobile app. Click Plays (along the bottom) then click View Scorebook at the top.
I got caught stealing and a stolen base. If everyone was safe, I would have scored them both for advancing on a wild pitch.
BTW - I know it isn't what you asked, but Defensive Indifference should very rarely be used. For example, runners on 1B and 3B - runner takes 2B without a throw. That's a...
We migrated over to Team Manager from GC to livestream this weekend and it worked flawlessly. We also stream on AGL but never scored there because the interface was so difficult. When Team Manager adds saving video, we'll likely end the use of AGL altogether.
A few things from the questions...
