RADcatcher... LOL That's her favorite thing to do... When we see runners attempting to take an aggressive lead, her mom and I look at each other and say, "here we go, she's going to her happy place!"
Than you RADcatcher for the thread!
My DD is a 15 YO catcher, has had a LOT of infield training, short hops, etc. and over the years has incorporated your approach to her catching. Fields a lot of those "in the dirt" pitches as a short hop coming up read to throw. A benefit to this, at least...
OP Said "Was flattened by the shortstop on a ball hit to the gap." Did the shortstop make contact while in the act of fielding a batted ball or attempting to field a batted ball?? Isn't a defensive player allowed to field a batted ball without risk of getting called for OB??
Thanks for the reply. I think the coach called for a sacrifice bunt to be laid down but the runner on third base froze and allowed herself to get ran down. Runner on first did advance to second safely though. Thanks again, always like learning...

First off, thank you all for all the great information, I really enjoy reading the various threads. Now on to my question: (by the way, I've searched and wasn't able to find this exact scenario)
Runners on first and third, one out
Batter lays down a bunt, pitcher picks it up, pitcher checks...
